Hello to everyone that likes to travel for leisure or business!

But what happened when I was in Italy 2 months ago? Yes, I went to Italy and used my mobile phone to call cheaper to the US using the same manner each and every time: I call my trigger number and hang  up after one ring. Then I receive a call back and I call my office phone number in Washington in order to hear my voice messages. Very good! After this I call home to hear my wife and children, it works perfectly and I pay only $0.07 per min, the same , that I pay when I call from US to US. Really cool? It worked very quick and I was happy! 

When I was back in my office I checked my bill at the local mobile phone company. OUI, my GOD! I had to pay more then 50.00 US $ for roaming and as an officer explained to me, my local mobile phone 
company pays to local mobile companies in other countries for roaming - in my case in order to have service to my US cell phone provided by an Italian local mobile system. In the same time I spent only 7.00 US $ from my Calling card account in Unitec. This is really  COOL? 
What to do? First, I read the call back instructions again. And what did I gain after this? I saw, that I can change the phone number from where I will be calling from while I am travelling overseas. But when I was in Italy I did not have my own office number and I did not know which my hotel number will be. 
How could I use these options for cheaper calls from my Unitec Calling card account while NOT having to pay for roaming to my local cell phone company in the US? This question “flew” in my mind while I was in the airplane to Italy last month. And when  we landed in Roma Leonardo da Vinci Airport I had a solution. At the airport I bought an Italian SIM card for my cell phone for $10, put this card in my cell phone and found my new cell phone number - this was an Italian mobile phone number. After this I sent a letter to the Support team from a public phone at the airport. with a request to change my call back number to a new Italian cell phone number and I sat in the bus to Roma. When I reached my hotel room,  after taking a shower, I called my trigger number in the US - 001 …… and hung up after 1 ring. One second, 2, 3 - my cell phone RANG. ”Welcome! Please, enter your PIN number”, yes I really like this voice prompt from Unitec, it gives me freedom to call cheaper all over the world.

When I was back in my US office, I checked my Italian SIM card and it was with 10 US $ in it, I never spent any money for my calls from Italy to my US trigger number. I put my US SIM card, and I saw, that I did not have any bills for the time of my trip in Italy to my local cell phone company. I only paid 6.50 US $ from my Calling card account in Unitec. COOL?
